Hi, my name is Keith Childress.  I am the founder and primary instructor of the Practical CATIA Training course.  I'd like to welcome you to our web site, and thank you for taking the time to pay us a visit.

I've worked in the automotive design and engineering profession since 1981.  I'm a 1980 graduate of the Batavia School Of Drafting and a 1982 graduated of the prestigious Philpot School of Automotive Body Drafting.  I hold 3 patents for my designs; one for a Headlight Assembly I designed for the 1989 Chevy Lumina and two for seatbelt related components that I designed while employed as a "Lead Designer" at Saturn.  I have been working with CATIA since 1986 and have been teaching people to use the software for nearly 20 years.  I am a former Batavia/Philpot instructor.  I have written articles that have appeared in CATIA Solutions Magazine, Pro-E Magazine, and Solid Solutions Magazine.  I have been invited to be a guest lecturer at Southern Utah University and have spoken at numerous high schools and technical schools over the past 20 years.  Richard Cousins, author of the CATIA V5 Workbook (arguably the most respected and widely used CATIA V5 textbook in the world), has invited me to work with him to produce the audio-visual adaptation of his popular "CATIA V5 Workbook".

I've developed my "Practical CATIA Training" course based on my 30+ years in the automotive design/engineering profession and 20+ years using the CATIA software. My course is designed to teach you what you need to know to go to work using the CATIA V5 software immediately.  I use many of the components I've designed during my career as an aid in teaching "Practical CATIA Training" course participants how to use the CATIA V5 software.  While the aforementioned training exercises are of automotive components I've designed, the methodology for using the CATIA software applies to all other disciplines as well.
